This week, we hosted the Plymouth Manufacturers’ Group Skill and Employability subgroup to our site for their quarterly meeting. We were able to share what we offer through our Schools Partnership with Ivybridge Community College and our wider Early Careers programme.
Plessey staff got involved in our National Walking Month activities, including group walks and a photography competition.
At the beginning of May, we asked our employees if they were interested in local lunchtime walks or longer after-work treks around the beautiful local landscapes. Three stomps around Roborough and two Dartmoor hikes later, more than 20 staff participated. Several people went on 4 or 5 walks each, really embracing the chance to get out with coworkers.
We also brought back our photography competition, where staff shared photos of the places they walked to during the month. Once again we got dozens of entries, from local views of Plymouth to far-off holiday shots. We now wait for our staff to vote for their favourite, which we’ll hang as a permanent art piece.
